For top-reading fluorescence applications, apply the black sealing film to the plate bottom with clear-bottom wells. For bottom-reading fluorescence, use the black sealing film as a top seal. AlumaSeal II prevents evaporation, vapor loss, cross contamination, aerosol release and spillage from multiwell PCR or assay plates.This unique sealing foil conforms around individual plate wells to provide a positive and uniform seal. Medical grade adhesive has a thermal stability range of -80°C to 120° C with superior chemical and solvent resistance. AlumaSeal ll eliminates the need for other types of plate sealing methods such as mats, caps or heat sealers. Pre-cut sheets have a 125 x 82 mm sealing area to fit both skirted and non-skirted PCR plates. Removable end tabs allow quick and accurate positioning over plate wells. Unlike other sealing films in the AlumaSeal group, AlumaSeal CS sealing films are not recommended for PCR or thermal cycling. A single non-perforated end tab simplifies application. Simply hold the tab and strip the backing from the body of the sealing film as it lays on the plate to avoid curling. Dimensions are132.6 x 82.6 mm, including the single 9.5 mm end tab. The dispenser facilitates the quick and easy dispensing of film from a roll allowing microplates to be sealed three times faster than using sheeted films. Environmentally friendly; no paper liner to remove and discard; utilizes approximately 59% less material than AeraSeal sheeted film. Each sheet is separated by an adhesive-free, perforated, color-coded red band. The smooth lower surface of the dispenser can be used to seal the film to the plate. Dispenser protects unused seals from contamination. Lower support prop prevents dispensing bill from contacting surfaces to prevent contamination. Replacement rolls can be easily installed by releasing the locking clasps on the dispenser. Moisture vapor transmission rate = 4,200g/m²/24hr. (The dispenser sold seperately.
